When you do a biceps curl, you should only bend your arm at the elbow and not move it in any other way. If you use too much weight, it can cause the arching of your back or your elbows to move forward.
Rule #4 - Don't Use Too Much of a Good Thing
You know the saying, too much of a good thing can be bad? This goes for dumbbell workouts too. They can be very efficient at reshaping your body. That's why some people start to believe that if three sets create results, then doing another three will even bring them further.
In reality, however, your body can only adapt to your exercises so much - it doesn't matter if it's about burning calories, burning fat, or strengthening muscles.
Rule #5 - The Tortoise Wins
If it's only one thing that I can get across to you, then please make it the idea that doing a set of exercises consistently over a long period of time gives much better results than how much you do in a single exercise.
Doing dumbbell exercises for two hours, one or two times a week, will give much less results than doing a twenty minute workout consistently for three times a week. The tortoise beats the hare.
